30 Weeks and Counting

So... although these pics are about 6 weeks old, we thought we would post them. Enjoy. We will post some more recent shots of the tum later this week. As I type this, we are exactly 4.5 weeks from the due date. Some folks think he will arrive early, some say on time, some say late. Let us know what you think!!!

Paint, a Shower, and Hunny Pots

March 3 and 4 Mike and his dad slaved away painting Baby G's room. The result is breathtaking! It is a lovely shade of green with a bit of blue in it. They did a great job. We cannot wait for the little one to sleep (among other baby things) in his painted chambre.

While the Greto men were stretching and straining away with paint, beer, and pasta fagiole and ACC basketball, I was in Tampa where my dear cousins (Heather, Scarlette, and Suzanne) and best friend (Katie) threw me a baby shower. We had a great time and my belly is officially 42 inches around! Pretty amazing! This is the latest picture from the weekend since so many of you have asked for a shot of the belly. You can also see a bit of the bedroom in the photo.

But please do not feel badly for the Greto men. Although they were working very hard while I was partying in sunny FL, last weekend me and Mike's Aunt Janet turned her sewing room into a "sweat shop" to turn out the lovely bed clothes for the little guy's bedding. And... the Hunny Pots are in alignment! Yes, we worked our fingers to the bone and had a couple needle injuries -- no stains on the hunny pots.

So with many thanks to all who have helped, cared, and LOVED us through this process, we say THANK YOU and Baby G says Thank You too. His thank yous are more like little kicks and squirms from within. But he loves each of you!

Until next time... Gretos out!

Baby G's Heartbeat

Listen to Mini G's heartbeat! (yes, it's really his)

The Greto Name Lives On...

Today, Baby G is 20 weeks old! It's hard to believe but we are halfway there! A couple days ago we learned the exciting news that we no longer have to call Baby G Baby G (or Mini G - though we probably still will) because... IT'S A BOY!

According to the technician and the Doctor, there is "no question" of his manhood! We saw it! But, so as not to embarass the little guy, we will just share a couple of shots with you for now. The first one is of his little face -- he was moving quite a lot so this was a great shot to get...

He likes to wave...

and kick...

and one more farewell wave.

Until next time...
Love,
Mike, Meg & Mini G

First baby picture!

Yesterday we had our 2nd prenatal visit. We get pretty excited about these b/c we know the Doc is going to bring out the little heartbeat monitor. (I have to get one of those for the house!) Indeed, Dr. Porter brought it out and we heard Mini G's thump thump thump. Unexpectedly, the doc then said, let's go take some pictures. We weren't expecting a sonogram until about week 18 (we're 14 weeks in now). We skipped down the hall to the magic baby picture room and within seconds saw the first glimpse of Mini G. He/she's the size of a small fist this week but nevertheless you can see the head, stomach and both arms! In fact, Baby G was quite active in there, waving around as the Doc passed the magic baby wand over Meg's belly.

Pretty amazing! Here's the pic with some helpful diagrams. Enjoy!

Mom is feeling great and has had a very smooth first trimester. We're very thankful for that.

We love you all. Stay tuned for more postings...
